 About the Symposium

This Symposium, in its 3rd Edition this year, is an effort by the International Center and various student associations of The University of Tokyo, to bring students from all research fields together, for the purpose of exchanging knowledge, ideas and culture. It also aims at providing a unique opportunity to the students to be able present and communicate their research and/or thoughts in English, to a multi-disciplinary group of participants. To ensure that this symposium provides the maximum benefit for everyone and can achieve its aim of greater collaboration among students and researchers, the prospective presenters are requested to keep the certain guidelines, with respect to the type of presentation, in mind.

Who can join?

We welcome everyone from The University of Tokyo-student, researcher, staff, or faculty member-to join the Symposium. All topics and research areas are welcome. In fact we will be very happy to have people from as diverse research areas as possible !

Best of all, participation in the Symposium is free for everyone !!

Why should I join?

The Symposium is a great way to take a break and learn about other students and research topics at The University of Tokyo. It is also a great chance to meet new people and get a feel of the diversity that exists at The University of Tokyo.

More importantly, there will be a special workshop included this year for learning how to give a well-expressed presentation of your research topic. In addition to the support you will recieve at the workshop, this symposium is a perfect opportunity to bild up your professional presentation ability for your future career in any field.

We welcome you to join in and have a great time learning about many interesting research topics and meet just as interesting and diverse people!

How can I help?

We need people from different backgrounds and research fields to give interesting and simple presentations on their area of research. Both oral and poster presentations are welcome and we would like to accommodate as many people as possible within the time limitations.

We also need volunteers to help on the day of the symposium. We will upload more information about volunteers in January and February. Those who are interested can contact us via email. We will be very happy to receive your email.

We also greatly welcome everyone to come in and attend the Symposium. It is a great chance to learn, to meet great people, and to enjoy yourself in an international, yet relaxed setting ! We will upload more information in the coming months.
